  • Also a BIG Thank-you to The Boynton Team Re/Max High Country Realty Inc. Brokerage, "Anything less is second best!" Located at 1 Toronto Road Box 190 Flesherton, On 519-924-3513 www.boyntonteam.com  They held a celebration in honour of their clients at the Osprey Community Centre in Feversham on Saturday June 6, 2009.  The Grey Bruce Animal Shelter was granted permission to set up a display and from generous donations brought in $347.75.  As the shelter is only operated by volunteers and we rely on adoptions and donations to fund it, we are very appreciative for the exposure and donations!
  • Everyone at the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter sends a huge THANK YOU to the students at Beaver Valley Community School in Thornbury for their most generous gifts of food and treats for all the cats and dogs at the shelter.  We want to especially thank Emily McKague, Claire Dinsmore, Hannah Woodhouse and Erin Hogan for being the inspiration behind the pet food drive and making it all happen.  Thank you all.

  • From all of the Shelter animals, which thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas treats, toys and cuddles; a huge THANK YOU goes out to you. While the Shelter was not open for adoptions or surrenders during the holiday season it was certainly open for the warmth and kindness of volunteers and their families. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of families coming to the Shelter over the holidays bringing donations, gifts, their time and devotion to the animals. Every dog, cat, hamster, guinea pig and rabbit was lovingly taken care of, played with, walked and given special attention and treats. Our Shelter exists because of you ... thank you!
  • Jessica Misener and wish her Happy Birthday - thank you for the wonderful gifts ... hugs from all the GBAS adoptable pets. Jessica Misener decided that she didn't need gifts for herself on her 8th birthday so she asked her friends to bring a gift for the dogs and cats at the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter. Jessica has a rescued dog of her own and wants to help pets who don't have a home yet. Jessica's friends didn't let her down. Jessica brought a truckload of "goodies" to the Shelter.

THANK YOU

GBAS would like to take this opportunity to thank:
  • Nathan who brought his family to visit us yesterday and gave us a BIG surprise.  Nathan is pictured here handing over $160 and a letter explaining how he collected this incredible amount of money for the pets at the shelter.   Thank you Nathan for your generosity and for making your  "Nobody" become a "Somebody" who will make the world of difference to many pets in need.    Here, in Nathan's own word's, is how it came about ..."My name is Nathan Russell. I am 8 years old.  I go to Kincardine Township/Tiverton Public School in Kincardine.  We did a project this year called "Nobody".  We had to do something for people, animals or the earth to make "Nobody" a "Somebody". We could donate our time, money or objects. For my "Nobody" project I asked that the guests coming to my birthday party bring a donation for the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter instead of a gift for me.  I raised $160."

  • We are thrilled and honoured that the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter was chosen to receive a donation from the Rocklyn Junior Farmers Association.  Through their ongoing fundraising activities the Association presented us with a cheque for $200.  Thank you so much for chosing our shelter -- your support is much appreciated.

  • We are lucky to have a regular volunteer in Marley.  Marley is 10 years old and comes to walk dogs every weekend she can with her Mother.  As an Easter project Marley decided to collect Canadian Tire money to buy something for the pets....amazingly Marley collected enough money to purchase a Flexi leash for dog walking and Kitty litter for the cats litter pans she often helps clean.  THANK YOU Marley!!!
  • The Grey Bruce Animal Shelter would like to acknowledge and thank the Youth of the Grey Bruce communities for their generosity and selfless acts of kindness to pets in need.  We are truly blessed to have such wonderful young people in our communities and over the years the shelter pets have received food, toys, money, walks and cuddles from many Grey Bruce youngsters.
  • Peyton Rea and Gillian Hallman. We are sending a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to Peyton Rea and Gillian Hallman for organizing a fundraiser for us with the help of their fellow students (Grades 4 & 5) at the St. Vincent Euphrasia School, Meaford, their teacher S.C. and Bob's Value Mart in Meaford.  Payton and Gillian came to the Shelter yesterday to present the adonation of more than $300 plus all kinds of treats, toys, litter, collars, leashes, and more, for the pets.  What a tremendous achievement and the commitment of spending several hours at the supermarket collecting donations for the pets at Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.   We are sending "thank you yips & meows" to you both, and your classmates.

  • We are sending a huge THANK YOU to our Volunteer & Director, Nancy Brent. Nancy certainly knows how to maximize support of her favourite causes....The Grey Bruce Animal Shelter and a person recovering from Cancer.  Pictured here is Nancy with Benji "Before" her donation  and with Bristley Boy "After" her donation.  Nancy raised over $300 in pledges for the Shelter and at the same time donated her beautiful locks to have a wig made which will make someone feel and look smashing during recovery.   Thank you Nancy - you are very special.

  • Allyson Dunn is a frequent volunteer at the shelter but today we had a very special visit with her.  Allyson recently celebrated her 4th Birthday and asked her friends to bring gifts for the pets at the shelter instead of gifts for herself.   We are sending BIG BIG THANK-YOUs  to Allyson and her friends and want to tell her tbat we are so lucky to know her.  Allyson, as usual, was busy giving out treats to her furry friends and took time out to christen our new little kitten Baby Belle.  THANK YOU ALLYSON.

  • THANK YOU BRUCE POWER EMPLOYEES. We were very proud to have been a chosen Charity for the employee fundraising efforts at Bruce Power this summer.

What a thrill it was to learn that you had donated over $1,900 to the
Shelter.  This is a huge amount for us and we appreciate it so much.
Thank you again for helping us help pets in need.

  • Yesssss, IT IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Shelter. A big THANK YOU to Chico's family who came to the Shelter with lots of gifts to put under our tree. The cats are purring, the dogs are yipping and the guinea pigs are whistling their thank you's for all the treats and goodies they brought for them.
  • Maida represented us all giving  a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Shayla and Emily.  These girls went out shopping with their Christmas money but they weren't shopping for themselves.....they spent all of their money buying things for the dogs and cats. They also helped us by preparing the dogs' dinners while they were at the shelter - thank you so much Shayla and Emily.
  • Happy Birthday wishes go to Celeigh & Nikki Plakholm who had a very special request of their birthday guests this year.  Instead of gifts for themselves they asked for donations for the pets in the shelter.  Thank you Celeigh, Nikki and friends who raised $115.  Thank  you all so much for this amazing donation.
